"Takasago sumo team came to our restaurant."

@Takasago Oyakata, the big boss of the Takasago beya (team) came to our restaurant on May 11th in '02 just a day before the start of the May season. (He is better known as sumo wrestler, "Asashio".) One of our customers is a sponsor of Takasago beya (team) and when he found out about the coincidence of us sharing the name "Takasago" he brought Oyakata to our restaurant.

@Oyakata is very familiar with Edomae Sushi so he sticks to it. He asked some questions about how to cook Kampyo and make Gari. His questions showed his thorough knowledge of sushi.

@We thought that he would eat a lot because of his figure but he was more of a heavy drinker than a heavy eater. He actually drank over 10 glasses of Syotyu while he ate some appetizers. (He forced himself to drink and eat less than usual on the day before the first day of May season.)

@He argued about having a fighting spirit enthusiastically and then went home. It seemed that he liked and enjoyed our sushi and restaurant. We are looking forward to seeing him again in the near future. We will be ready for his bigger Shotyu glass next time!

ͺPicture: We took this picture with Oyakata to remember the night. O-Danna was especially excited to see him as a big sumo fan.
